Mr. Luinstra specializes in Fire Protection Engineering and Structural Fire Protection. He has specialized professional competency in life safety analysis in government, business, education, health care, residential and mercantile areas; hospital design and specification, analysis, and product evaluation; loss prevention, system failure and fire investigation.
Mr. Luinstra has served as a consultant to the US General Services Administration and served as a member of the Architectural and Engineering Team for the design and specification of a hospital for the US Department of Veterans Affairs. He has served as an instructor for FPST and US Army Corps of Engineers PROSPECT courses. Mr. Luinstra has been an instructor for the OSU CEAT Professional Development for more than 20 years.
Mr. Luinstra is a member of SFPE and NFPA. He has served as an alternate committee member for the NFPA 20 since 2011. He received a BS degree in 1981 from the OSU FPST. He has more than 30 years experience in fire protection and loss control engineering.
